Cate Avery translates from German, French and Italian. She has been a translator since graduating from university (MA Oxon 1982, MA Dalhousie University (Nova Scotia) 1985). She is known for her specialist knowledge in patents and other intellectual property. A Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting since 1989, she was made a Fellow in 2006 in recognition of her services to the profession. She has been a member of The Peer Group since its foundation in 2000 and was Director of The Peer Group until 2013.
